Deciduous tree reaching 18-25 m tall with a pyramidal to oval crown. Features deeply lobed leaves with bristle-tipped points, turning russet to red in fall. Produces small acorns. Prefers moist, acidic soils and full sun. Tolerates wet soils and periodic flooding. Provides food and habitat for wildlife. Suitable for wet areas in large landscapes and urban settings. Native to eastern and central North America.
