Broad-leaved Sedge
Clump-forming sedge growing 8-18″ tall with distinctive broad, blue-green leaves. Features the widest foliage of northeastern sedges and small, inconspicuous flower spikes. Prefers dry to mesic woodland conditions, often on high-pH soils and limestone substrates. Found in rich deciduous forests and rocky slopes. Excellent ornamental value for difficult dry shade sites. Suitable for shade gardens, woodland edges, and as textural accent. Native to southeastern Canada and eastern United States.
