Pasture Rose

Low-growing deciduous shrub reaching 0.3-1 m tall. Features compound leaves and fragrant pink flowers blooming in early summer, followed by small red rose hips. Stems have straight prickles. Prefers well-drained, sandy soils and full sun. Drought-tolerant once established. Provides food for wildlife. Suitable for dry prairies, sandy areas, and rock gardens. Native to eastern North America.
